ok. i promised that i would show you the final packaging photos. here’s the ribbon that i decided on. i really love it. i think all of the colors i’ve been able to find as far as the paper, tissue and ribbon work well with my brand. the custom stamp and pouch really add to the style of on a friday. i hope that you’ll agree…

but what’s on the inside? let’s find out…

what do you think?
ever since i left hawai’i and moved to san francisco, i’ve been working to get on a friday back up and running. ummmm…it has now been three years since i’ve lived here. i’m a bit disappointed in myself, but have been building mixed plate and deciding what to do about punk-n-pie {i’ve decided to move on because i’m working on a new project! – check out the major sale!}.
so…time has gone by. what have i been doing as far as on a friday goes? well, there have been a couple of site redesigns {thanks to the always patient lindsay of purr design} and new jewelry designs, of course. but here’s a little something i can give you a preview of…

new business cards {the left is the front and the right is the back}! and…

new jewelry cards! i’m pretty excited about the jewelry cards. it was funny when i had the idea and made my version of it before lindsay put it in its proper form so that i could get them all printed out. the above image is the front. below is the inside…

know what else is cool about the cards? she helped by putting the little dots on there so i could use them as guides when i needed to punch out the holes to stick the earwires and chain through. so brilliant, right?! i used to do it all by eyeballing it {and that was crazy!}.

hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. i’m excited!!!
i am a visual person. i learn best when i can see and touch things. i appreciate things that have pretty packaging. so with the whole site redesign of on a friday, i had to consider what other things i would change up. packaging, perhaps?
i always used kraft jewelry boxes that were lined in cotton to place jewelry in. i would first put the jewelry pieces in a ziploc-type bag and then put a turquoise tissue paper in the box to wrap the bag like a present {if that makes sense}. i had custom stickers made with my shop logo that i’d put on the front of the box and would then tie a nice bow with a matching ribbon to close it. that still seems like a good idea.
then i had an idea where i would learn to sew {still working on that, by the way. but i do have a friend’s sewing machine in my possession}. i wanted to create little bags out of cute recycled fabrics to place jewelry in. like a little pouch. i haven’t gotten to that point yet, but here’s what i do have…

how ever did i get my company name on there, you ask? well, i ordered a custom rubber stamp from margaret of paper pastries! she is amazing to work with and has all sorts of cool stuff in her shop. yes, i photographed the box my stamp came in because i was super excited…

of course, i messed up the one sample box i had while trying to stamp the lid because the surface isn’t completely flat. so i decided to play around and stamp on this green/olive paper that matches one of my company colors…

but now what? should i just do a little black and white twine, keeping it simple?

or should i do a little twine with a “mahalo” tag?

or maybe a pretty ribbon?

oh, the possibilities.
i’m sure that if you are a small business owner you can understand the dilemma i’m facing right now. how do you keep things pretty, yet affordable. and i mean being cost effective in money as well as your time. what do you think?
ps – check back to see what i’ll decide on.
