About the Designer
Liana Miyamura was born and raised in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu. She recently relocated to San Francisco at the end of 2007 after a fun road trip adventure along the West Coast. Crafting jewelry has been a part of Liana's life as a way of expressing some of her creativity for more than eight years now. She is constantly looking to learn new techniques and exploring new materials to bring more flavor to her designs. A lover of all things handmade and unique, Liana can often be found perusing the web in an effort to support her fellow independent business owners. Oh, and she is missing the Hawaiian sun already...
Our Mission
Creating products of high quality that are unique is something we take great pride in and is the mission of our company. Our customer service is outstanding and we try to keep things affordable because we all deserve something nice. I am a one woman operation, designing and making everything in my tiny studio by hand. However, I am fortunate enough to have the support of my family, making this "our" company.
Why On a Friday?
Often asked what 'On a Friday' means, I thought I would share a little background with you...
If you knew this company previously, our name was "Under the Hula Moon". We still hold that name very dear to our hearts and use our same wonderful logo, but decided to go with something that had a different meaning to us.
For some reason, Fridays {especially in the wee hours of the morning} are the most inspirational time for designs and productions. There's a Friday ritual I had for a while drinking bubble teas {you know, the flavored drinks that have the tapioca "pearls" in them}. At the time I wasn't too big on coffee {but times have changed!}, but give me a bubble tea and I'm good to go! There's something very magical {perhaps the caffeine?} in those drinks that keeps me going until the next day! Hence, the name ON A FRIDAY...

Everything on this site is designed and handcrafted by Liana Miyamura. Earrings are our best-seller and there is a style for everyone and every occasion.
If there is something that catches your eye but it says "SOLD" next to it and you are still interested in it, please feel free to email us. Everything you see here is either a one-of-a-kind piece or is limited in quantity. You may also email us if you are wondering if the piece of jewelry you like can be converted into a different ear wire or from sterling silver to gold-filled or vice versa.
Please note that each item is handcrafted and unique. This means that there may be slight variation in the color of the pieces or stones. We cannot guarantee availability on products because they are all either one-of-a-kind pieces or limited in quantity.
